One pathway, from twelve months old to the BECE

Four sections on one campus, following the Ghana Education Service curriculum end to end. A child can join us in Creche and leave having sat the BECE, without ever changing school.

Where your child would start

Each section has its own head, its own shape of day, and its own promise to parents. Follow the links for the full picture — class by class, subject by subject.

Ages 1–5

Preschool

Creche · Nursery 1–2 · KG 1–2

Our preschool takes children from their first year through to the end of Kindergarten 2. The rooms are calm, the days are predictable, and the adults know every child by name. We follow the GES Kindergarten curriculum from KG 1, but the years before it are about settling, speaking and playing with purpose.

Our promise. A child who joins us in Creche arrives in Basic 1 already reading simple sentences, writing their own name, counting confidently to 100, and — the part parents notice most — comfortable speaking up in a room.

Ages 6–8

Lower Primary

Basic 1 · Basic 2 · Basic 3

Basic 1 to Basic 3 is where reading becomes fluent and number work becomes automatic. We treat these three years as the most important in the school. Classes are capped at 22, every class has a teacher and an assistant, and any child who falls behind in reading is picked up within the same term.

Our promise. No child leaves Basic 3 unable to read. That is the commitment, and it is the reason we run daily guided reading in groups of six rather than whole-class reading aloud.

  • Reads age-appropriate books fluently and for pleasure
  • Writes a structured paragraph with correct punctuation
  • Knows multiplication tables to 10 by recall
  • Carries out a simple science investigation and records it

Ages 9–11

Upper Primary

Basic 4 · Basic 5 · Basic 6

Basic 4 to Basic 6 is the bridge into Junior High. Pupils move to subject teachers, keep their own timetable, and take responsibility for homework diaries and deadlines. The academic demand steps up, and so does the amount of independence we expect.

Our promise. A pupil who finishes Basic 6 here can plan their own week, write an argued piece of prose, work through a multi-step problem without being walked through it, and stand in front of the school to present.

Ages 12–15

Junior High School

Basic 7 · Basic 8 · Basic 9

Our Junior High section follows the Ghana Education Service Common Core Programme for Basic 7 to Basic 9, and ends with the Basic Education Certificate Examination. We are a registered BECE centre and we prepare pupils for it seriously — with mock examinations from Basic 8, a structured revision programme, and honest guidance about school selection on the CSSPS.

Our promise. Every Basic 9 pupil sits at least four full mock examinations before the BECE, gets an individual revision plan after each one, and goes into school selection with realistic advice rather than wishful thinking.

How we teach

Four things that hold across all four sections

A Basic 1 room and a Basic 9 laboratory look nothing alike, but the same four commitments apply in both.

  • The GES curriculum, in full

    The Standards-Based Curriculum from KG to Basic 6 and the Common Core Programme for Basic 7–9 — including the practical work and project work the syllabus asks for, not just the written content.

  • Reading first

    Literacy is the timetable's first priority in every section. Guided reading in groups of six, daily, from Basic 1 — and free catch-up for any child who falls behind.

  • Learning by doing

    A working science laboratory, an ICT lab with one workstation per pupil, and Career Technology that builds things. Subjects that are practical are taught practically.

  • Assessment that tells the truth

    Continuous assessment worth 50% of the termly mark, end-of-term examinations, and a mid-term grade sheet. If a child is behind, you hear it from us first.
