Shared reading, story-making and a termly trip to the library at the British Council. Places are kept for children on the reading catch-up programme.

Clubs, societies and sport
Club afternoons run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with sport on Mondays and Wednesdays. Every club is included in the fees — there is no separate charge for any of them.

What is on offer
Ten clubs, and everyone joins at least one
Pupils from Basic 1 upwards choose a club at the start of each term and stay with it for the term. Preschool has its own programme within the school day.
Coding club
Friday, 3:00 – 4:30pmBasic 5 – Basic 9
Scratch for the younger members, Python for those who want it. Twenty-four places in the ICT laboratory, one machine each.
Debate and public speaking
Thursday, 3:00 – 4:15pmBasic 4 – Basic 9
Formal debating, impromptu speaking and preparation for the inter-school competition. The club has taken the district trophy twice.
Science club
Tuesday, 3:00 – 4:15pmBasic 4 – Basic 9
Investigations that will not fit in a lesson — rockets, circuits, a termly project for the science fair.
Cultural troupe
Tuesday and Thursday, 3:00 – 4:30pmAll sections
Drumming, adowa, kpanlogo and agbadza. The troupe performs at cultural day, speech day and at inter-school festivals.
Art and design
Thursday, 3:00 – 4:15pmBasic 1 – Basic 9
Drawing, painting, batik and tie-dye, printmaking and clay. Work is exhibited at speech and prize-giving day.
Athletics
Monday and Wednesday, 3:00 – 4:30pmBasic 3 – Basic 9
Sprints, middle distance, relays and field events, building towards the inter-house meeting and the district championships.
Football
Monday and Wednesday, 3:00 – 4:30pmBasic 4 – Basic 9
Boys' and girls' squads, with fixtures against neighbouring schools in Terms 1 and 2.
Girls' club
Wednesday, 3:00 – 4:00pmBasic 6 – Basic 9
Run by the school nurse and the pastoral lead — health, confidence, study skills and a safe place to ask questions.
Young journalists
Friday, 3:00 – 4:00pmBasic 5 – Basic 9
Writes and produces the termly school newsletter, interviews staff and covers events. Several of the news posts on this site began here.
The house system
Four houses, from Creche to Basic 9
Every pupil belongs to a house from the day they arrive, and siblings are always placed together. House points are earned for effort and conduct as much as for winning races.
Ankobea
The one who stays — steadfastness
Ankobea holds the athletics shield, won in 2026 by four points in the last relay.
Nkabom
Unity — together we are stronger
Nkabom took the inter-house quiz in 2026, on the strength of a Basic 6 team.
Adehye
Nobility — carry yourself well
Adehye has produced the victor ludorum in three of the last five athletics meetings.
Nyansa
Wisdom — think before you act
Nyansa holds the record for the most house points earned by the preschool section.

Tours normally run in the morning, but if you want to see the coding club or the cultural troupe, tell us and we will arrange a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon instead.
