Four houses, one shield
Every pupil belongs to a house from the day they arrive, and stays in it until they leave. Siblings are always placed together — one set of colours to buy, one team to shout for.

The four houses
Named for things worth being
The house names are Akan words, and each one names a quality rather than a colour. Children learn what their house name means in their first week.
Ankobea
The one who stays — steadfastness
Ankobea holds the athletics shield, won in 2026 by four points in the last relay.
Nkabom
Unity — together we are stronger
Nkabom took the inter-house quiz in 2026, on the strength of a Basic 6 team.
Adehye
Nobility — carry yourself well
Adehye has produced the victor ludorum in three of the last five athletics meetings.
Nyansa
Wisdom — think before you act
Nyansa holds the record for the most house points earned by the preschool section.
How points are won
Mostly for effort, not for winning
More house points are awarded for effort in class than for anything else, which is deliberate. The fastest runner in the school cannot carry a house on their own.

Why the preschool counts
A first place in the Nursery egg-and-spoon race scores exactly the same ten points as a first place in the Basic 9 four hundred metres. It is not a gesture: in 2026 the youngest children’s points decided the shield.
It also means a Basic 8 pupil has a reason to stand at the side of a Nursery race and shout, which is the whole point of a house system.
House captains
Two Basic 9 captains per house, elected by the house at the start of Term 1. They lead the march-past, organise the relay teams, and nominate pupils for helping-hand points.

Inter-house athletics
Term 3
Sports day. Every pupil in the school takes part in at least one event, from the Nursery egg-and-spoon to the Basic 9 four hundred metres.

Inter-house quiz
Term 1
Two teams per house — one Upper Primary, one Junior High — with combined scores. A Basic 6 team took it in 2026.

Inter-house football
Terms 1 and 2
A league played across the year at break and on club afternoons, with boys' and girls' divisions from Basic 4.

Places are open for Term 1, September 2026
