Junior High School

Our Junior High section follows the Ghana Education Service Common Core Programme for Basic 7 to Basic 9, and ends with the Basic Education Certificate Examination. We are a registered BECE centre and we prepare pupils for it seriously — with mock examinations from Basic 8, a structured revision programme, and honest guidance about school selection on the CSSPS.

Every Basic 9 pupil sits at least four full mock examinations before the BECE, gets an individual revision plan after each one, and goes into school selection with realistic advice rather than wishful thinking.

Class by class

What happens in each year of Junior High

Ages are a guide. Where a child's previous schooling suggests a different placement, we say so before admission rather than after.

  1. 01

    Basic 7 (JHS 1)

    12–13 years

Common Core Programme begins. Study skills, laboratory induction, career technology.

  2. 02

    Basic 8 (JHS 2)

    13–14 years

The heaviest content year. First full mock in Term 3.

  3. 03

    Basic 9 (JHS 3)

    14–15 years

Revision programme, four mocks, CSSPS selection, then the BECE.

What makes this section different

Why parents choose Junior High here

  • Four full mock examinations

Basic 9 pupils sit four complete mocks under examination conditions, marked to WAEC standards. After each one, every pupil gets a written revision plan for their weakest three papers.

  • Honest CSSPS guidance

We sit down with every Basic 9 family individually before school selection, with the pupil's mock aggregates in front of us. We would rather a pupil get their fourth choice than miss placement entirely.

  • Saturday revision, Terms 1 and 2

Optional Saturday morning revision for Basic 9 from the start of Term 1, staffed by the subject teachers who taught the class. Included in the fees.

  • A working science laboratory

Integrated Science is taught with practicals, not diagrams on a board. Pupils handle apparatus weekly from Basic 7.

  • Career Technology that makes things

Pupils design and build — a wired circuit, a joined frame, a costed business plan. The BECE paper rewards it, and it is the part pupils remember.

  • Streams of no more than 25

JHS classes are capped at 25 so that written work can be marked properly and returned within the week.
