About the role
Every preschool room has a teacher and an assistant. The assistant is not a spare pair of hands — you would run small groups, keep observation records, and be the person a newly-arrived three-year-old attaches to.
What you would do
- Support the class teacher across the school day
- Run small-group literacy and numeracy activities
- Keep the fortnightly observation record for a group of children
- Write the daily note home for Creche and Nursery children
- Supervise the preschool playground at break
What we need
- A certificate or diploma in Early Childhood Education, or equivalent experience
- Patience, warmth, and the ability to stay calm with a distressed child
- Good written English — the daily note home goes to parents
- Willingness to be police-checked and to complete annual child-protection training
Desirable, not essential
- Paediatric first aid
- Ga or Twi
